How do I know the reading is complete?
The thermometer gives 10 long beeps in 10 seconds for a normal reading. Above 37.8 °C (100 °F) it gives 30 short beeps in 10 seconds instead, so a fever reading is easy to tell apart.
What do H and L on the display mean?
H °C (H °F) appears when the temperature is above 43 °C (109.4 °F), and L °C (L °F) appears below 32 °C (89.6 °F); both show that the reading is outside the measuring range.
Which battery does it use and how long does it last?
It takes one AG3 or LR41 button cell, rated for about 2 years or 2,500 measurements. The thermometer also switches off automatically after 8 minutes, give or take 2 minutes, to save the cell.
