Grinding Goggles
Product Code : LSK-SWES-10704
Grinding Goggles (SKU LSK-SWES-10704) are clear safety goggles that protect the eyes from flying particles, liquid splashes and coarse material. Trainees wear them for turning, grinding, chipping and sanding in fitting, machining and fabrication workshops at ITIs, polytechnics and TVET colleges. Science Lab Supplies supplies them from Ambala, India to institutes, tender contractors and distributors, usually as part of a workshop safety kit.
Specifications
The goggles have a clear lens, so the wearer keeps a normal, undarkened view of the work while the eyes are shielded from impact by flying chips and grit. They also guard against liquid splashes and coarse debris, which makes them suitable for general machine-shop tasks as well as grinding.

Applications and Experiments for the Grinding Goggles
The goggles are worn whenever a task throws off chips, sparks or grit: angle grinding, bench grinding, lathe turning, chipping slag from welds and sanding. They are a basic PPE item in ITI Fitter, Turner, Machinist and Welder trades, in TVET workshop modules and in polytechnic workshop practice.
- ITI Welder trade: eye protection when chipping slag and grinding welds.
- ITI Turner and Machinist trades: eye protection at the lathe and grinder.
- TVET and polytechnic workshop practice: general eye protection in the fitting shop.
Clear goggles do not filter the light of a welding arc. For welding, use a welding shield with a suitable filter, and put the goggles back on for chipping and grinding. Replace goggles with scratched or cracked lenses.
Standard Scope of Supply
The Grinding Goggles are supplied as a single pair as described above; any optional accessories are listed on the quotation. For workshop kits, state the number of pairs you need, one per trainee plus spares, on your enquiry.
