Flow Meter Calibration
Product Code : LSK-FM-10450
Flow Meter Calibration (SKU LSK-FM-10450) is a teaching apparatus that compares the accuracy and use of fundamental flow meters, starting with the nozzle meter supplied and extending to optional meters that fit the same base unit. It suits engineering students of all branches in fluid mechanics lab experiments. Science Lab Supplies fabricates the apparatus at its Plot 448 unit in the HSIIDC Industrial Area of Saha, Ambala, India, and its quotations go straight to universities, polytechnics, contractors and dealers.
Specifications
The Flow Meter Calibration table lists one fact per row. Put simply, a flow meter fits between two adaptors in the base unit, four water-filled manometers on a common manifold read the pressure differences across the meter and the whole assembly, and a straight pipe section shows the true pressure loss for comparison.

Applications and Experiments for the Flow Meter Calibration Apparatus
The apparatus shows how differential-pressure flow meters work, how accurately each one indicates flow and how much head each one costs the system. With the optional Pitot tube meter it also gives the velocity profile in a pipe, which helps explain the boundary layer and surface friction in pipes and flow channels.
- B.E./B.Tech mechanical, civil and chemical engineering: calibration of a nozzle meter and its coefficient of discharge.
- Comparing meter types by swapping optional meters into the same base unit, or side by side with the Venturi, variable area and orifice meters of the separate Flow Meter Demonstration.
- Measuring the permanent pressure loss of each meter against the straight pipe.
- Diploma courses: velocity profile and boundary layer study with the Pitot tube option, followed by the laminar-to-turbulent transition on the Friction Loss In A Pipe apparatus.
Standard Scope of Supply
The set includes the base unit with adaptors, the nozzle flow meter, the four-manometer panel with common manifold and air valve, the hand-pump and the straight pipe. Other flow meters, including the Pitot tube and Venturi meters, are optional and are quoted separately.
Packing, MOQ and Lead Time
You may ask us to quote a single apparatus or several for parallel student groups; each quotation gives packing, delivery time and price for that quantity. Optional meters and other engineering lab equipment in India from our fluid mechanics list can sit on the same quotation.
Science Lab Supplies holds an Importer-Exporter Code as a registered exporter and can ship to buyers in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Uganda. Tell us which meters you need on the contact page, build a list of items in the enquiry cart, or check the lab tender page for bid-based purchases.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which flow meter comes with the Flow Meter Calibration apparatus?
The nozzle flow meter is included. Other meters, such as the Pitot tube and Venturi flow meters, are optional and fit quickly between the same adaptors in the base unit.
Why does the manometer manifold have a hand-pump?
The hand-pump raises the air pressure in the common manifold above the four manometers. This offsets all the water columns so that readings stay on the scale while students measure pressure differences.
Is Science Lab Supplies the manufacturer or a trader?
This calibration rig, with its base unit and manometer panel, is produced by Science Lab Supplies on its own premises in Saha, Ambala, India, which means the quotation and dispatch come from the maker and not from a reseller.
What does the straight pipe show?
The included straight pipe gives a reference section. Comparing its pressure reading with the readings across each flow meter reveals the true pressure loss that the meter itself adds to the pipe system.
Related Flow Measurement Equipment
The first two items below are optional meters for this base unit; the others apply the same Venturi, orifice and pipe-flow ideas on separate rigs from the Fluid Mechanics and Training Workshop Labs ranges, so a laboratory can build a complete flow-measurement sequence on one quotation.
- Pitot Tube — a micrometer head sets the tip position across the pipe, and a wall tapping gives static pressure.
- Venturi Flowmeter — fits the same base-unit adaptors; its design lets textbook equations give flow from the measured pressures.
- Fluid Friction Apparatus — three circuits on a vertical panel with a piezometer set and differential pressure gauge.
- Bernoulli's Theorem — horizontal Venturi with many tappings to water manometers and a downstream control valve.
- Flow Through an Orifice — transparent tank with a sharp-edged orifice, Pitot traverse and a blade for jet diameter.
- Bernoullis Theorem Complete with Collecting Tank — acrylic convergent-divergent section with piezometer tubes, measuring tank and stopwatch.
- Pressure Measurement Bench — vertical and inclined U-tube manometers beside vacuum and pressure Bourdon gauges.
