Buchner Funnel with Sintered Disc
Product Code : LSK-LF-10397
Buchner Funnel with Sintered Disc (SKU LSK-LF-10397) is a glass filter funnel with a porous sintered disc fused in place of filter paper, used with suction to collect and wash precipitates and crystals. It is standard kit for B.Sc. and M.Sc. chemistry practicals, pharmacy labs and research or quality-control work. Science Lab Supplies sends it from Ambala, India to schools, colleges, laboratories, tender contractors and distributors, together with the rest of its funnel range.
Specifications
The funnel has a fire-polished rim and stem for safe handling and a clean fit into a filter-flask adapter. It is listed in six disc porosity grades, 0 to 5, and five capacities from 35 ml to 1000 ml, so the same design serves small recrystallisations and large filtrations.

Applications and Experiments for the Sintered Buchner Funnel
Fitted to a filter flask under vacuum, the sintered funnel pulls liquid quickly through the disc and leaves the solid on top, where it can be washed and dried. Because no paper is used, fibres cannot contaminate the product and the disc suits reagents that attack filter paper.
- B.Sc. organic chemistry: collecting and washing recrystallised products.
- M.Sc. and research labs: filtering reaction mixtures and catalysts under suction.
- Analytical chemistry: gravimetric determinations where the precipitate is dried in the funnel.
- Pharmacy and QC labs: clarifying solutions and recovering solids.
Grade 0 is the coarsest disc and grade 5 the finest; pick a coarse grade for bulky crystals and a fine grade for fine precipitates.
Standard Scope of Supply
Each funnel is supplied as a single unit with its sintered disc in the porosity grade and capacity you specify. The filter flask, rubber adapter and vacuum source are not included; they can be quoted with the funnel if you are setting up a complete suction-filtration station.
Packing, MOQ and Lead Time
Quotations are available for one funnel or for several capacities and grades for a whole teaching or research laboratory. Each states the packing, delivery time and price for the quantities listed, and other laboratory glassware from our range can be added.
Science Lab Supplies holds an Importer-Exporter Code as a registered exporter and can ship to buyers in Rwanda, South Africa, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Malaysia. Share the porosity, capacity and quantity through the contact page or place the item in the enquiry cart; tender buyers can refer to the lab tender page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which porosity grade should I choose?
Use a coarse grade (0–1) for large crystals and fast flow, a middle grade (2–3) for general precipitates, and a fine grade (4–5) for very fine solids.
What capacities are offered?
The funnel is listed in 35 ml, 80 ml, 200 ml, 500 ml and 1000 ml capacities, each available across the porosity grades.
How should the sintered disc be cleaned?
Rinse it in reverse with a suitable solvent straight after use so solids do not lodge in the pores, and avoid sudden temperature changes on the disc.
Who supplies the Buchner Funnel with Sintered Disc?
Science Lab Supplies supplies it from Ambala, India, quoting laboratories, universities and contractors for single funnels or full porosity sets.
