Losses In Piping Systems
Product Code : LSK-FM-10463
Losses In Piping Systems (SKU LSK-FM-10463) is a mobile panel apparatus for measuring the pressure (head) losses caused by pipes, bends, valves and other fittings. Engineering students use it in B.Tech civil, mechanical and chemical fluid mechanics labs and in diploma hydraulics courses. Science Lab Supplies produces this apparatus at its own plant on Plot 448, HSIIDC Industrial Area, Saha, Ambala, India, and supplies it to universities, technical institutes, contractors and distributors without a middleman.
Specifications
A vertical panel on wheels carries two separate, colour-coded hydraulic circuits made of small-bore copper pipe. The small bore allows many bends and components while keeping proper test lengths upstream and downstream. Piezometer tubes and a pressure gauge measure the losses, and outlet valves control the flow.

Applications and Experiments for the Losses In Piping Systems Apparatus
With water from the hydraulic bench flowing through one circuit at a time, students read the pressure drop across each bend, valve and fitting and relate it to flow rate. The results give loss coefficients for common components, a core topic in pipe-flow fluid mechanics lab experiments.
- B.Tech fluid mechanics: minor losses in bends, elbows and fittings.
- Pressure loss across valves, read on the gauge.
- Comparing component characteristics between the two circuits.
- Friction in a rough pipe, with the optional roughened pipe and its manometer.
Standard Scope of Supply
The apparatus comes as the wheeled panel with both copper circuits and their components, the piezometer tubes, the pressure gauge, the outlet control valves and the datum hand-pump. The Digital Hydraulic Bench is a separate item, and the roughened pipe with manometer is an option.
Packing, MOQ and Lead Time
You are welcome to ask for one unit or for a set of pipe-flow rigs for a whole laboratory. Our quotation shows packing, delivery time and price for exactly that quantity, and the hydraulic bench or the optional roughened pipe can be added.
Registered with an Importer-Exporter Code, Science Lab Supplies can ship to buyers in Rwanda, South Africa, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Malaysia. Put the apparatus in the enquiry cart, send details via the contact page, or read about tender supply on the lab tender page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is copper pipe used for the circuits?
Small-bore copper pipe, widely used in domestic central-heating systems, lets the circuits include many bends and components while keeping effective test lengths either side of each one.
What does the optional roughened pipe add?
It has a pipe with a roughened bore and pressure tappings to a manometer, showing the pressure drop caused by pipe roughness. It fits the panel or can be wall-mounted and connected to a hydraulic bench.
Are you the manufacturer of this apparatus?
We are. Science Lab Supplies builds the apparatus in its own Saha, Ambala facility in India, and the quotation is issued directly by that factory.
Can it be moved and stored easily?
Yes. The panel stands on wheels, which make it easy to move between benches and to store when not in use.
