Roughened Beds - Gravel (SKU LSK-FM-10444) are weighted gravel bed sections laid in a laboratory flume to simulate flow over a roughened channel bed. Applications and Experiments for the Roughened Gravel Beds
Laid along the flume floor, the gravel sections turn a smooth channel into a rough one. Students measure depth and flow over each grade and over the plain bed, then calculate roughness coefficients such as Manning's n and Chezy's C and compare them with published values.
